UNION CITY – A police officer observed a black Chevrolet Blazer traveling southbound on South Main Street with its center brake light out at about 8:57 p.m. May 11. The officer pulled over the vehicle and identified the driver as Charles Arthur, 51, of Grand Valley. A search of the vehicle was performed due to a strong odor of marijuana. Police found a plastic bag containing a marijuana blunt and a small white chalky rock wrapped in plastic, suspected of being crack cocaine. Arthur was arrested and processed at the police station. He was later released with criminal charges to be filed pending lab results.
