Union City School Board Hears About Renovation Projects

At the May 9th Union City Area School Board meeting, the board was brought up to date on the ongoing multi-million dollar renovation project at the middle-high school, and the administration building. Work is almost complete on the boiler and lighting projects. And the new walk-in coolers and freezers have been chosen. work is almost complete on lighting and a boiler and upgrades to the walk-in coolers and freezers have been selected.
The district has chosen Roofing Consulting Services for its roof work, but a consultant from the roofing company and the district’s facilities manager walked the 156,000 square feet of the roof. The roofing consultant was still reviewing specifications but had made a list of suggestions and shared those suggestions with the architect.
The board also approved hiring Jim Brozell Construction of Waterford to do excavating for the drainage assessment along the northeast wall of the administration office at the middle-high school at a cost of $2,080.
